The Safari

We took a camping safari through Kenya and a little in Tanzania. We stopped at the Ngorongoro Crater, Amboseli Park, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara. We saw every animal we wanted to see, most up close and personal. It is completely different seeing these strange, beautiful, and powerful animals in their own home. We were also able to visit a Masai village and take a ballon ride over the Mara! Luckily, the camping safari was not that much "roughing it". We tent camped two nights, with only a squatty potty (for those that don't know it is a hole in the ground!) From then on we stayed in guesthouses and semi-permanent tents all with showers and toliets with toliet seats! The best part was we had our own driver and cook. They were both excellent at their jobs and very interesting to talk to.
