| He really was happy playing with it, but would not smile for the camera. |
Recipe:
2 c warm water
2 c flour
1 c salt
2 T vegetable oil
1 T cream of tartar
food coloring
1. Place water in sauce pan on low heat. While water is warming mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl and then pour into water. Add oil. Stir constantly until it thickens and pulls away from the sides. If it is sticky cook longer.
2. After cooling, knead until smooth and divide for coloring.
3. Make a divot in the center of the ball and place coloring (about 20 drops for intense color!). Fold over and work in the coloring. Use gloves or plastic wrap to keep hands clean. (Plastic wrap didn't work great, but it was better than nothing).
5. Store in air tight container. If it drys, add a bit of water and knead.
